The Friends of Meldreth Manor and Orchard Manor was formed in January 1999 to raise money for the students of Meldreth Manor and (since its establishment in 2007) its sister facility Orchard Manor Transition Service. The Friends were granted charitable status (reg charity no 1090456) in January 2002.

The Friends' objectives are to help advance the education, training, development and general wellbeing of the students of Meldreth Manor and Orchard Manor by providing facilities, equipment and other items for use by its students.

The committee meets between 6 and 8 times per year at Meldreth Manor or Orchard Manor.

Various fundraising events are held through year, including an annual summer fete.
